John Fahey was born on a small farm in upstate New York. At the age of 11, he began to help his parents harness and drive the draft horses where he enjoyed galloping their family horses through the fields with his brothers. At the age of 18, John began to train their family ranch horses to ride and drive, which ignited his passion to become a trainer. Since then, he has successfully started many colts, mustangs, variety of warmbloods, as well as fixing problem horses. John has had much accomplishment in understanding problem horses and helping people gain confidence again with their horses.
John loves starting horses and watching them improve each day. He has a calm and gentle approach to training and uses the natural horsemanship methods combined with his own. "I love a challenge and I love working with horses. Starting a young horse is very special to me, giving them that first ride and setting up the foundation for a life time of success." The most exciting part to John is that he will never be done learning or betting himself as a horseman.
In 2005 graduated from Heartland Horse Shoeing School. John now resides in Pownal, Vermont with his wife Denise and their beautiful four children Reagan, Jocelynn, Kaylin, and John.
Wilden's Run is grateful to have John Fahey as apart of the team and is excited to share his talent and expertise with clients and horses. We are excited to have John's help with breaking and starting our young horses.
